Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information MeepsTV collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Overview
MeepsTV is a personal channel site for public backlog and profile content, Twitch-authenticated tools for editors and admins, optional Google YouTube and Calendar connections, uploads, and the Veeps cosmetics and REP experience. Public visitors can browse without an account. Signing in or connecting third-party services means additional information is processed as described below.
MeepsTV does not currently use advertising pixels, marketing analytics suites, or interest-based advertising trackers in the application.
2. Information we collect
Account and authentication
When you sign in with Twitch, MeepsTV receives identity information from Twitch such as your Twitch user ID, login name, display name, and avatar URL. MeepsTV stores an internal account record with roles and timestamps. Twitch may grant access to email as part of OAuth; MeepsTV does not currently persist Twitch email addresses in its database.
Session information (internal user ID, Twitch ID, display name, avatar, and roles) is kept in a sealed browser session cookie so you stay signed in. Temporary OAuth cookies are used during login or connect flows and are cleared after the flow completes.
Google, YouTube, and Calendar connections
Channel owners or authorized users may connect Google accounts for YouTube playlist imports or Google Calendar sync. MeepsTV may store Google account identifiers, email addresses associated with the connection, encrypted access and refresh tokens, token expiration data, YouTube channel metadata, and Calendar subscription or sync records needed to operate those features.
MeepsTV’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide or improve the connected YouTube and Calendar features that are visible in the product. MeepsTV does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising (including retargeting or personalized ads), or transfer it to data brokers. Human access is limited to security, legal compliance, or other cases permitted by Google’s Limited Use rules.
Profiles and user-provided content
If you configure a public profile, MeepsTV stores the content you provide, such as page title, appearance preferences, theme colors, link labels and URLs, notes, adult-content flags, and image URLs. Content you mark as public is visible to anyone who visits the relevant page.
Uploads
Uploaded files (for example profile backgrounds, cursors, or editor assets) may include filename, MIME type, size, storage key, and ownership or episode associations. Files may be stored on Cloudflare R2 when configured, or on the server filesystem in local development.
Editor, backlog, and channel content
Production and backlog features may store channel ownership and editor assignments, game backlog entries, ratings, notes, episode schedules, VOD or playlist URLs, and related workflow metadata. Game metadata and cover art may be retrieved from IGDB (owned by Twitch).
Veeps
Veeps features may process Twitch login names, REP balances, owned and equipped cosmetic IDs, custom name colors, purchase amounts and dates, and gift recipient login names and amounts. Some Veeps balance and ownership data is also mirrored in Google Firestore.
Stream and chat overlays
Live overlay features may temporarily process Twitch usernames, display names, message text, emotes, badges, subscriber status, name colors, channel-point reward details, and pronouns for on-stream display. Overlay events are held in browser memory for short display periods and are not persisted as a chat history database by MeepsTV.
Pronoun lookups may query pronouns.alejo.io using Twitch login names. Avatar lookups may query DecAPI using Twitch login names. Streamer.bot may be used as a local WebSocket source for chat and reward events.
Cookies and local browser storage
- Session cookie — sealed authentication session for signed-in users.
- OAuth cookies — short-lived state and redirect values during Twitch or Google connect flows (typically about 10 minutes).
- meepstv-appearance — theme/accent preference (up to one year).
- meepstv-view-as and meepstv-preview-timezone — admin preview preferences (up to one year).
- veeps-store-cart — localStorage cart of cosmetic IDs until cleared or changed.
- profile-age-* — sessionStorage acknowledgement for an adult-link warning on a public profile during the browser tab session.
Hosting and technical logs
Hosting and infrastructure providers (such as Vercel) may automatically process standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps in server or platform logs. MeepsTV application code does not maintain a separate IP-address database for marketing.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate users and enforce viewer, editor, admin, and related permissions.
- Publish public profiles, backlog pages, and other content you choose to make available.
- Operate editor workflow, YouTube imports, and Google Calendar sync.
- Store and serve uploads associated with profiles or production work.
- Provide Veeps REP, cosmetics, purchases, gifts, and overlay display.
- Secure the service, investigate abuse, and comply with law.
- Communicate about account or service issues when you contact us.
4. How information is shared
MeepsTV does not sell personal information. Information may be shared in these situations:
- Public pages — profile content, backlog entries, and other material you configure as public.
- Service providers — infrastructure and APIs that help run the site, including Twitch/IGDB, Google (OAuth, YouTube Data API, Calendar API, Firestore), Turso/libSQL, Cloudflare R2 (when used), Vercel hosting, Streamer.bot, pronouns.alejo.io, and DecAPI.
- Embedded media — viewing Twitch, YouTube, or TikTok embeds may cause those platforms to collect data under their own policies.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect MeepsTV, users, or the public from harm or abuse.
- Business transfer — if the site is transferred as part of a sale, merger, or similar event, information may move with it subject to this policy or a successor notice.
5. Retention
MeepsTV retains account, profile, editor, upload, and Veeps records for as long as needed to operate the features you use, unless a shorter period applies or you successfully request deletion. Short-lived items include OAuth cookies, in-memory caches, and overlay display events.
Disconnecting Google/YouTube or Calendar removes the related tokens and sync records for that connection. Disconnecting a Google connection is not the same as deleting your entire MeepsTV account. There is no fully automated self-serve account deletion button today; email meow@meeps.tv to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data associated with your account. MeepsTV will respond within a reasonable time and may retain limited information when needed for security, legal, or operational records.
6. Security
MeepsTV uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to a small channel site, including sealed session cookies, HTTPS in production, and encrypted storage of Google OAuth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account or a connection has been compromised, contact meow@meeps.tv promptly.
7. Children
MeepsTV is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 13, do not create or use a MeepsTV account or provide personal information through account features. If you are between 13 and 17, you may use the site only with permission from a parent or guardian.
MeepsTV does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact meow@meeps.tv and appropriate steps will be taken to delete it.
8. Location of processing
MeepsTV is operated from Washington, United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States and in other locations where service providers operate. If you access the site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to the United States.
9. Your choices and requests
- You can browse public pages without signing in.
- You can sign out to end your MeepsTV session cookie.
- You can disconnect Google/YouTube or Calendar connections where those settings are available.
- You can clear cookies and local/session storage in your browser.
- You can email meow@meeps.tv to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data, or to ask privacy questions.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. MeepsTV will try to honor reasonable requests consistent with those laws and with the technical capabilities of the site.
10. Changes to this policy
MeepsTV may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are posted. Continued use of the site after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy. If Google user data practices change in a material way, MeepsTV will provide notice and obtain any consent required before using that data for a new purpose.
